The Ultimate Workout

28 01 2008

On Saturday the 26th of January Snowqualmie (Hayak) ski trails is where 2.5 Hours of cardio happened.
With it snowing and the temperature around 20 degrees and no wind it proved to be a great training day. This was an out/back type of ski on skate skis

I started out on my Skate Crosscountry Skis and went out hard for 15 minutes. At that point I had finally gotten rid of the frozen fingers. After 4 minutes of rest I than started out again this time went for 30 minutes nonstop, with another 4 minute rest I had to reconfigure my Camel back as it froze and I was unable to drink water. With the Camel back placed on my back with a micro fleece shirt as the first layer and then 2 more layers over the top of the camel back and another 30 minutes of skiing I heated the h20 carrier up enough to be able to drink again.

According to my map calculations I had just completed 9.4 miles give or take a 1/4 mile of distance.

Upon reaching the 1 hour and 30 total minutes in the dumping snow, skiing out, I refreshed my energy with H20 and began my ski back. What made this so great was that I hit a great rhythm and skied nonstop in fresh snow which slowed my speed down and I landed back at my car in 58 minutes. Yee Haw. By this time I welcomed being done as I was wet with sweat and dry clothes really felt comforting.

Skate skiing is an extreme total body work out as it requires balance, endurance, pacing, nutrition (H20), good ski technique and love for the Cold. According to most calorie count I suspect I burned nearly 2500 calories in the 2.5 hour work out session.

?????? is their any one out there that loves to ski as I do contact me at 425-442-7646 or at dave@w8liftstudio.com. I would welcome anyone joining me to be able to get this awesome workout in again. I am very able to teach how to ski if you so desire. Both traditional and Skate skiing technique.

Many Blessings DAve (lover of the Cold and snow) Brinkman

Ps because of the awesome day I then proceeded to Alpentah to ski in the gravity mode and tear up some fresh powder for the next 4 hours. Sleeping that night was such a treat.

Morning Start Up

25 07 2007

As you all know the only true way to get your matabolism going is to Eat a little  food within the first 30 minutes of waking up.   A simple carb and protien combo is best. It is not that hard it can be as simple as a piece of toast with peanut butter on top to start your day.   I encourage a  positive start to your day and metabolisms to be the optimum calorie using machine possible.  Coffee does not count. Upon taking in some calories Life pak Vitamins should then be taken.  More on this later.  Many blessings Dave
